Cosmic, rustic, jurassic explosion

I’ve been thinking about volcanoes and rocks — the land before time. When the fog clears, you can suddenly see shapes and colours just like magic. That feeling inspires my work. In this work, I have chosen to use ink because the colours are vibrant. I like how they mix together. It is a great way to experiment. I like playing with colours that don’t always match what we see in nature. Each piece is like a little experiment, we can’t control everything. Just let it slide.

Mystic divine fusion

I like to mix and fuse different things together — places, textures, materials. My work often feels like it’s from more than one place at once. Listening to good music helps me get into the groove. It brings out colour, movement, and magical ideas. I try to make work that feels a bit like movement and flow, just like the way a water puddle moves when it’s disturbed and makes a happy accident.  In this work, I also have used ink and lots of water.
